LG, as they are known to do, has changed the washer and dryer.
Their new LG WashTower (WKEX200HBA in black steel and WKEX200HWA in white) is hot, hot, HOT! As we are experiencing more and more people moving into spaces that can be a little smaller than they are used to, the LG WashTower is made for them. Traditionally some stacked washers and dryers can be on the smaller side, but with the WashTower, the washer offers and amazing 4.5 cubic space in the washer and 7.4 cubic space in the dryer, all in one unit. No more stacking kits to attach two machines together.

As innovative as it is, it is also a quite beautiful machine. It is a slim monolith of steel and glass. The elegant design that LG used for the WashTower, is apparent, and you may be hard pressed to want to place it behind a laundry door.
One of the most talked about features of the LG WashTower is the centrally located control panel. Traditionally, the washer and dryers that make up a stackable unit, are really just stand-alone machines that are stacked on top of each other. That means while the control panel of the washer is easily accessible, the control panel of the dryer is often above eye level and for shorter users, this high location can be very difficult to use.

This washer is an ultra large capacity washer, which means that for a unit this size, it makes an excellent use of space. There are 6 wash programs as well as 10 difference options including steam, TurboWash and extra rinse. There is also an allergen wash cycle that uses the power of steam to remove common household allergens in fabrics by more than 95%. This is based on certification by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). One more impressive wash option that I mentioned above is the TurboWash option which powers through larger loads in less time, thanks to five jets with variable sprays that deliver a complete clean in under 30 minutes. That is very impressive!

Before we move onto the dryer, the washer is also smart. Very smart. It will sense your load amount and adjust the amount of water accordingly to avoid wasting water. Forget about sorting or choosing cycles. Built-in sensors use AI technology to detect fabric texture and load size, then it customizes wash motions and dry temps and more for advanced fabric care. It will do this in the washer and then communicate to the dryer exactly what was washed and what temperatures and times are appropriate for that load.

The dryer is also considered an ultra large capacity dryer, as its internal space is 7.4 cubic feet. When we look at the programs and options on the dryer, there are 6 programs and 10 options, including wrinkle care, reduce static, steam refresh and so many more. Also, as someone who is SUPER paranoid about laundry fires, there is an indicator that will notify you if the dryer senses that the duct to the dryer is blocked. Just a little extra peace of mind.
Overall, this is a fantastic washer and dryer. Metropolitan Appliance has been proud to offer this new laundry unit to our customers for a couple of months now, and people really seem to love it.
